It has been the Southern Arizona Arts & Cultural Alliance's honor to let the arts take us to places and spaces we could only dream. These last few years have let us bring the CATALYST Creative Collective to fruition. A 14,000 square-foot meeting, event, classroom and production space, SAACA conceived CATALYST after identifying a need for a dedicated community space that could uplift, connect, and build stronger collaborations within our creative sector.

Since its inception, CATALYST has engaged our community with creative classes in music, dance, and the culinary arts and a live performance space for partners like Tucson Youth Music, Esperanza Dance Collective, and the Southern Arizona Symphony Orchestra. It has hosted concerts, mixers, painting workshops, script readings, board meetings, business retreats, and much more. Its artist-in-residency program has empowered and engaged the local arts community by providing artists and creatives spanning all mediums with a space to home in on their work and present it to a citywide audience.

To date, SAACA has supported the work of over 75 partnering non-profits and more than 1,300 community artists with discounted or low-cost use of CATALYST to support their work. As a direct example, more than 125 youth receive a free music lesson each week in CATALYST as a result of our support and partnership with the Tucson Youth Music non-profit. As with all SAACA endeavors, CATALYST is fueled by collaboration, cooperation, and connection. As we dive into our summer season, we are looking forward to bringing several exciting months of CATALYST programming to the community, including art markets, culinary classes, dance recitals, live open mic performances, and much more.
