The Autism Society of Greater Phoenix was established in 1973 and is the oldest Autism organization in Arizona. We have proudly served the Valley of the Sun for 50 years. We empower families affected by Autism with the knowledge and strategies to help their loved ones access services, provide social opportunities, educational opportunities and more to become independent, productive members of society. We empower parents and caregivers with knowledge about all ages including childhood through the transition to adulthood as we share our experiences, celebrate our successes and support each other through our challenges.
We provide support group meetings and Let's Connect Social Events all over Maricopa County. We offer a free training series. Autism 101 is for the family of a newly diagnosed child with Autism or at risk for Autism and for families new to the area and need to learn the systems in the State of Arizona. Transition 101 educates families about the resources and supports available into adulthood. Safety 101 educates families on how to keep their loved ones safe across all ages and stages of life. Visit our website at www.phxautism.org for details on support groups, meetups, trainings, conferences, Sensitive Santa, BE SAFE events, and more!
"Thank you for all your service to the community with Autism Society! I hope you know how much you have helped so many of us parents and kids through your efforts. When I met you I was drowning, probably also my son, and you threw the lifeline and it kept my head above water as I traveled downstream. You guided me through the process and taught me how to cope and make a better life for all of my family. We are all in a really good place with my son and as a family, Thank You!!!"

"You welcome people with autism and disabilities, and out of all the people I know who don't accept those kind of people, you of all are the best and kindest one to do all this for them. Now I get this feeling that everyone at ASGP feels like they belong in an environment, that they can go there with whatever elements they have. I feel the same way. I thought that I did not belong anywhere, but since these events, I feel like I have a great life worth living, and I have a place to make friends and belong somewhere. Not another world but just another place."

"Thank you so much for all of your help! I was afraid that I'd end up leaving a bunch of voice messages and waiting for people to call back. All in one day I talked with you guys and had many questions answered and fears relieved because I'm not going through this alone now. I am going to sleep well tonight knowing that if any more issues come up, I can handle them with a little advice from you who have been there before. Two or more heads are better than one, I know that's true. My son really looks forward to the Let's Connect meetings. It's the only place he goes that I do not have to talk him into going to. It's great to see him with friends, and I'm learning so much from the guest speakers. I thank God for people like you every day."

"I just wanted to send you a HUGE note of gratitude! Though we haven't been able to connect for the Autism 101 class, I did watch the video version, and I got to work. I followed all of your directions AND I was able to connect with who I needed to to get services. I have literally had my full-time job of trying to get services reduced to a part-time job. I cannot tell you how much I appreciate your help in that process - even though you may not know you participated. There is a special place in Heaven for you!"
