Celebrating 80 years and over 8,000 alumni, the Tucson Arizona Boys Chorus has served as a leading music education program, representing its community throughout the world. The Boys Chorus offers an enriched educational experience through the study and performance of choral music. The Boys Chorus strives to increase its programs and provide more services to boys ages 6 - 22 in Southern Arizona.
"The Chorus has completely changed my son. He has grown into a man that respects others and knows how to interact with adults. He is timely, responsible, and considerate because of his experience in the Chorus. I would recommend this program to anyone with a young boy." - Elizabeth Stember, parent
"The experiences I had in the choir were such a vital part of my youth. I made life-long friends, wonderful memories and learned how to act as a gentleman while on tour. The thing that is hard to describe and show is how things fully affected me later in life. I can probably link parts of almost every major event in my life to something I learned from the choir. The friends I made became life-long friends and I wouldn't be who I am today without them.
"I work for Disney World putting on private events/parties, but I got here because of my music background that started with the choir. The choir not only taught me how to put on a major show and what went into putting on a major production and being on tour for a month at a time, but gave me the drive and work ethic to follow my dreams. Three rehearsals a week, singing on TV and radio, summer camp, countless shows, selling Bonanza Books and trees at the Christmas Tree Lot showed me what hard work can do. I love the choir and wish it could keep going on forever."
- alumnus Josh Cawthorne, 1998-2004. Josh is currently an Event Service Manager with Disney World in Orlando, Florida
"I have no idea where my life would be without my Chorus experience." Scott describes himself as a mediocre singer but was able to develop leadership qualities by being charged with the load in and out for the Touring Chorus. He credits The Tucson Arizona Boys Chorus with acquiring important leadership skills.
- alumnus Scott Troxel '73-'78. Scott produces concerts for artists like Snoop Dog, Katie Perry, and Brad Paisley and special events like the Olympics.
"China Tour was my last tour with the Tucson Arizona Boys Chorus. I enjoyed building friendships with other choristers in Shanghai and Beijing. It was a chance of a lifetime and I know that that tour (along with the many others I have experienced) has molded me into a better leader for our community." - alumnus Jacob Porter, 2006-11
"Our adoptive son was born to a meth addict. He has trouble with changes in routine and is hyper-sensitive to stimulus, yet he found his place in the Chorus: his talent, a calling, and continuous fellowship. Here's a boy that could have had such a different life, and instead has been given opportunities that he will remember forever. To say that as parents we are grateful to the Chorus doesn't do it justice. There are truly no words." - L.G., parent
