HALO is celebrating over 30 years of Helping Animals Live On! Since HALO's inception in 1994, over 82,000 dogs and cats have found a new home. Each year we find new families for thousands of homeless dogs and cats, giving them a second chance at happiness! We ensure that our animals receive love, shelter, food and veterinary care. Did you know that 80 cents of every dollar goes right to the animals directly? Sure does! We have been a proud partner of the Purina Shelter feeding program for 15 years. "All I can say is phenomenal! I have adopted 3 dogs from HALO of which were strays and were at the shelter a bit longer than most of the dogs are there. 'Thanks for checking in on Nicole, so far all is going very well with her joining our family. She and our older dog have acclimated to each other quite well, after an introduction and sniffing one another for a bit they are getting along nicely. Nicole also seems to be happy and is eating/drinking normally, I even think she has filled out just a bit in the few days since we brought her home. She is also very willing to make herself comfortable, with one of her favorite spots being on top of our old picnic table as in the attached picture.
Finally, I would like to commend HALO on our adoption experience. We had not heard of your organization before and so were a bit cautious about adopting from you. That said, the young lady who walked us through the process was truly exceptional, friendly, helpful and obviously cared about the animals in your care. "I adopted Indie (then Hugo) in December 2015 and we have been adventuring ever since all across the country through National Parks and scenic highways! Finally home in Florida but Indiana Jones lived up to his adventurer namesake and loves to hike and explore (he also is fine with just cuddles). "My husband and I wanted to add to our ''rescue" family w/ a pup (we have a rescue 13 yr. old tabby and a 4 yr. old Chi). They encouraged us to spend time w/ the pup we chose and when we said we needed to know she'd be okay w/ our cat, they did a cat check and then we made sure they'd allow a "meet and greet" w/ our Chi. We came back the next afternoon w/ not only our Chi but also our older grandkids who spend 3 afternoons a week in our home. They let us take our time and were very helpful in getting the chip, license, and her medical records ready for us. It was a bonus to get the coupon book and the bag of food to start her off with! Everyone there was just great! We went w/ HALO b/c our son and daughter had just rescued from them the week before. Our new little girl fits right in w/ our "clan".
