Our sole mission here at Lost Our Home Pet Rescue is to help both people and pets in crisis with the most compassionate care through our unique and innovative programs and partnerships. When people are faced with unforeseen hardships in life, we believe that they shouldn't have to choose between helping their pets and getting the help they need themselves. In these harder times that jeopardize their ability to care for their pets, we provide a safe place where their pets can feel at home.

For over 15 years now, Lost Our Home has helped more than 35,000 pets and over 20,000 people! And counting...

Thanks to the continuous hard work and support of our heart-centered staff, volunteers, donors, and incredible community of passionate animal lovers......

And it all started as a grassroots response to the housing crisis that left thousands of people displaced and thousands of pets abandoned in 2008. Our Founder and Executive Director, Jodi Polanski, worked as a local mortgage banker during that time and witnessed these devastating results first-hand and had to take matters into her own hands given her love for animals.

With pets being abandoned in foreclosed homes without food or water and forced into shelters because their owners had no other choice, Jodi was quick to recognize this urgent need and launched Lost Our Home Pet Rescue in her own condo with just a small network of volunteers to help.

Soon we learned that the need was even greater than we originally thought, and we responded by quickly expanding our program offerings for pets and pet parents who face a variety of crises - and this is what truly sets us apart from other pet rescues out there.

OUR UNIQUE PROGRAMS ADDRESS NEEDS THAT HAVE NEVER BEEN MET BEFORE

From the very beginning, Lost Our Home recognized many needs that have never been met by existing pet rescues - providing care for both people and pets who have fallen victim to domestic violence, homelessness, medical emergencies, and financial hardships.

HOW YOU CAN HELP US THROUGH ARIZONA GIVES

1. DONATE TO HELP US REACH OUR $35,000 GOAL FOR THE MOST EXCRUCIATING SEASON OF THE YEAR

We've been so fortunate to have people like you supporting us over all these years with monetary donations, and it's the sole reason why we've been able to help over 23K people and 36K pets during times of extreme crisis.

Without you, thousands of pet lives would be lost and pet owners would be left without their dear companions in some of the hardest times of their lives.

This year, we're on a mission to raise $3,000 to help us with the influx of high costs that come with the excruciating summer season. Over a few months, puppies and kittens in the hundreds flood in during this time of year, in dire need of homes and intentional care through our intake/rescue and Temporary Care programs.

Each pet we take in costs approximately $1,146 to care for from the moment we intake them to the moment they're adopted or go back home with their pet owner. While we always see over 600 pets from May through August, we're asking for your help to help us rescue 30 of these pets in need to reach our goal of $35,000 through AZ Gives Day.
