Redefining Pain Management

Medissage Outreach (Medissage) was established in 2019 to help people suffering from chronic pain live happier and healthier lives by redefining pain management and advancing knowledge. The organization provides care to low social determinants of health (LSDoH) communities and Veterans in Maricopa County who suffer from substance use disorders because of chronic pain.
Medissage has partnered with various community-based organizations (CBO) to provide care .

Medissage Outreach provides contracted care through Medi-ssage Health Inc.'s Region 4 community care network contract through the VA, and Medicaid, and Medicare through the Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System (AHCCCS). Each location has two providers: a medical massage therapist and a health and wellness peer support specialist.
Medi-ssage has developed The Reboost treatment (rEboosTx), a pain management program that lasts for three years. The program is implemented to rely on the body's natural ability to produce pain-relieving analgesic chemicals called endorphins. The program combines medical massage with standard pain management treatments, and health and wellness peer support to improve the patient's condition. The way that patients are able to enroll in the program is through Medi-ssages partnered locations referring physicians. The rEboosTx is a collaborating intervention to the patient's current rehabilitation treatment. It aims to reduce the need for high doses of prescription pain medications. The rEboosTx is also prescribed by VA pain management physicians, through AHCCCS pain management programs, private insurance and a federal poverty level sliding sclae.
