CASS (Central Arizona Shelter Services)

Our mission is to prevent and end homelessness for individuals and families while fostering compassionate, community-driven solutions. With nearly 40 years of experience, CASS has provided shelter, case management, and housing services to over 175,000 individuals, making it Arizona’s largest and longest-serving homeless emergency shelter provider. Today, we operate three locations and have recently reopened Vista Colina, our dedicated family shelter, along with the grand opening of The Haven our senior shelter, expanding our reach to serve even more individuals in need.

At our downtown Phoenix adult shelter, we provide 600 beds, low-barrier emergency shelter, and access to case management and housing resources. The Norton and Ramsey Social Justice Empowerment Center in Glendale offers essential services such as case management, showers, laundry, and a 24/7 homelessness prevention helpline, assisting an average of 118 people each month last year. Vista Colina continues to support families with wrap-around services that help them achieve sustainable income and permanent housing. Recognizing that seniors now make up more than a third of those entering our shelters—many struggling with housing insecurity due to rising costs—we launched The Haven to provide stability and support for this vulnerable population.
