Chandler-Tullamore Sister Cities

    The Mission of Chandler-Tullamore Sister Cities is to cultivate and maintain a strong reciprocal relationship between the Cities of Chandler, Arizona and Tullamore, Ireland to encourage:  Cultural Understanding, Community Involvement, Economic Development, and Educational Exchanges.

    Our efforts to “twin” Chandler, Arizona and Tullamore, Ireland began in 2008, with the signing of the Sister Cities’ agreement finalized in 2009.  We continue to explore opportunities to share education, cultural diversity, and economic development.  A Sister City relationship with Tullamore provides opportunities for citizens and City officials to experience and explore Irish culture through long-term community partnerships.  Our role includes facilitating the possibility of new economic development opportunities between the two communities by introducing new business-to-business relationships.  Hosting visiting delegations and assisting in aligning visitors with appropriate and up-to-date resources in our market are examples of how CTSC assists Chandler’s existing economic development process.

    Our commitments may include informal networking/social gatherings; education informational evenings; fundraising activities; hosting visitors from Tullamore; museum and history exchanges; and participation in City-sponsored events.  CTSC will host receptions to visiting delegations and facilitate introductions to City and Chamber staff.  Productive meetings and exchanges from both cities, along with travel to local points of interest, have provided the impetus to keep our “twinning” goals moving forward.  Our Education plans include the Young Artists and Authors Program with Sister Cities International; a Student Ambassador Program; and other future exchanges.
