Career Plus, run by Miracle Center, is the birthplace of dreams and a beacon of hope for individuals and families seeking a fresh start. Imagine a vibrant space where Annette, a single mother of four with a passion for cooking, transforms her life by mastering culinary skills, or where young Quinten, unsure about his future, discovers a love for operating equipment that sets him on a new, promising career path.

When people like Annette and Quinten come through the doors at Miracle Center's Career Plus Training Center, we want this environment to reflect their value, and honor them in a way that is conducive to growth and development. We are building an environment that builds people. In April 2023 the career center opened to our first group of students, and we had 58 Development Workshop participants. Of that number, 34 of them went on to graduate from one of GAP Ministries' 3 hard skills trainings - Culinary, Warehouse, or Retail. The remainder were referred to other outside workforce programs, or directed to other resources to help them get back on their feet. For Arizona Gives Day, will you help us continue to provide vital programs to those coming out of difficult places so they can step into the opportunity that will allow them to provide successfully for their family and their future?

Testimonials

Annette graduated from Career Plus in Culinary Training last year. When she came to Miracle Center, she was on probation and facing a possible 2-year prison term. Her four children had been removed from her care and were in foster care. The moment she walked into the GAP Kitchen, it was obvious she was serious about getting her life back on track and doing whatever it took. She was never late, worked hard, learned the necessary skills to receive her ServeSafe certificate, and after graduation immediately got a full time job at a restaurant near the University of Arizona. When she appeared before the judge, her effort and attitude paid off in her being granted probation rather than prison time. Later in the year, before the holiday, she was reunited with her children. Annette continues to work hard, adding a part-time job delivering meals for the GAP Kitchen in addition to her full time job.

"Quinten" (name has been changed) had just been released from prison after serving a 3-year term. He was brought to Miracle Center by his Transitional Housing manager, a former graduate of the Career Plus training. Quinten completed the 2 weeks of Career Plus development classes, then completed training and graduated from the Warehouse Career Program in December last year.
Quinten has a contagious smile, is a very hard worker, and really puts in effort. He says that after his time at Career Plus, he a better person. After graduation, he next completed Goodwill Hours working in the Community Warehouse, and received a stipend for his work hours. He was recently hired by True Core Cleaning, the largest commercial cleaning business in Southern Arizona. He is very happy to be reuniting with his daughter and former Fiancé.
