PAL:
Parents of Addicted Loved Ones - PAL - provides hope and support through addiction education for parents and family members dealing with a loved one suffering from substance use disorder, through FREE support groups. We have over 200 meetings in 39 states and seven national online meetings including one Spanish language online meeting.
WHY:
Just last month the federal government reiterated the national drug epidemic is an ongoing health crisis and it continues to take the lives of nearly 100,000 people annually, from just drug overdose, not including alcohol related deaths.
Unlike detox facilities or treatment centers, we focus on providing support specifically for families. We have witnessed the lasting change this approach can bring, and we invite you to join us in making a difference. Will you step in today?
"Parents in particular are confronted with challenges they've never had to face before. I saw how difficult it is for them to identify and work through these challenges alone. And that's what they feel-alone." -Mike Speakman, PAL Founder
"People don’t know what addiction does to a family and I didn’t know what to do. PAL has been such a blessing to my life, and I’m so blessed and thankful to my facilitators and to PAL and what it’s done for me." -PAL Parent
"A year and a half ago my therapist suggested PAL. I jumped right on it and have been a constant attendee. HOPE. PAL has given me hope. PAL has also helped me realize that I do not need to feel guilty for my son’s addiction or for how I raised him. Enabling is not love and I no longer need to enable him. PAL has helped me to see that I, also am in recovery for my behaviors." -PAL Parent
