Scottsdale Training and Rehabilitation Services (STARS)

Founded in 1973, STARS is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that provides day treatment, vocational training, and inclusive community employment programs for adults with developmental disabilities. These disabilities include chronic conditions such as Down syndrome, autism, cerebral palsy, traumatic brain injury and others related to mental or physical impairments that arise before adulthood and cause difficulties in language, mobility, learning, self-care, and independent living. STARS mission is to improve the lives of individuals with developmental disabilities and changes lives through opportunity by providing supports that help individuals improve their self-care, self-direction, and economic self-sufficiency.

Standing apart from other agencies, STARS offers transportation to and from all of its programs for any participant who needs it. This is a critical service and has helped over 60% of STARS center-based participants remain at STARS.

In order to continue providing this exemplary service, STARS has launched the Beyond the Ride campaign to support its transportation department. Funds from this fundraising initiative will help to ensure the accessibility of STARS programs to all current and future members.
