ANTHEM PETS ANIMAL RESCUE is Celebrating 20 YEARS of Continuous Service, 2005 - 2025

WHAT DO WE DO?

Anthem Pets is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, rescue organization made up dedicated Volunteers and Fosters who work 365 days a year saving homeless and abused pets. We rescue PUPPIES, KITTENS, ADULTS and SENIORS, plus special needs dogs and cats. In 2024 we saved 520 pets and it's all thanks to your generosity. ♥

When a pet becomes our responsibility, it receives a wellness check-up, and is vaccinated, microchipped, and spayed or neutered. Because we do not have a shelter, the pet lives with a foster family who provides a loving home for the pet until it is adopted. Some rescued pets are sick or injured and we work with our veterinary partners to determine the best course of treatment for these animals. Veterinary care is essential, and also our greatest expense, the reason why we work to raise funds throughout the year. Your continuing support makes all the "Happy Tails" possible!

20 YEARS - HOW DID THIS BEGIN?

It all started with a sick and elderly cocker spaniel dumped at an Anthem park, which was the last straw for resident, Barbara Ward-Windgassen. This wasn't the first pet she had helped, and there seemed to be no end of dogs and cats in need. Barbara invested everything she could, and with the help of the community she founded Anthem Pets Animal Rescue in 2005. Sadly, Barbara lost her battle with cancer, but her dream lives on, thanks to the dedicated volunteers and fosters who work 365 days a year for pets in need.
