The Arizona Elk Society is dedicated to benefiting elk, advancing wildlife conservation and preserving the outdoors for future generations through four core initiatives: youth programs, habitat projects, Heroes Rising Outdoors, and Water for Arizona's Wildlife.

Youth Programs
The Arizona Elk Society's Youth Programs focus on teaching children about hunting safety, habitat conservation and restoration, and respect for wildlife. Children learn useful skills through these programs that will help them when they go outside in Arizona. AES knows that the youth of today will be the leaders in wildlife and habitat conservation in the future, so they want to teach the next generation to love and respect the outdoors. There are hunting and fishing camps, outdoor education events, and chances to learn from experienced hunters and conservationists as part of the programs. Through these programs, kids learn how important it is to protect wildlife habitats and how they can help keep Arizona's natural resources around for years to come. The Arizona Elk Society is working toward a better future for Arizona's wildlife and natural landscapes by teaching today's youth to be responsible and to respect, enjoy, and care for their natural world.

Habitat Projects
The Arizona Elk Society does a lot of work to improve habitats for elk and more than 820 other species of wildlife in Arizona. As part of this work, native plants are planted, riparian areas are restored, water sources are improved, and dangerous fencing that blocks travel corridors is taken down. AES has also worked with landowners, conservation organizations, and state and federal government agencies to improve land for conservation and wildlife management purposes. As a result of these efforts, there has been a significant increase in elk populations, as well as the presence of other wildlife species in restored habitats. The Arizona Elk Society's dedication to restoring habitats helps wildlife and improves the natural beauty of Arizona's landscapes, making sure that they will be around for future generations to enjoy.

Heroes Rising Outdoors
Heroes Rising Outdoors provides hunting opportunities to wounded warriors in the state. The program is designed to help Arizona veterans who have suffered physical or emotional injuries while serving their country. By providing these heroes with the chance to experience the outdoors and hunt elk, deer, bighorn sheep, and other game, the program helps them heal and build camaraderie with other veterans. The Arizona Elk Society works with local guides and outfitters to provide a top-notch hunting experience, and all costs associated with the hunt are covered by the program. The program is a way for the Arizona Elk Society to give back to those who have given so much to their country, and it is a testament to their commitment to conservation and wildlife management. Through Heroes Rising Outdoors, wounded warriors are able to enjoy the beauty of Arizona's natural landscapes while also finding healing and support from members and partners of the Arizona Elk Society.

Water for Arizona's Wildlife
The Arizona Elk Society's Water for Wildlife initiative is a vital part of their conservation efforts. The program focuses on rebuilding water catchments and hauling over 800,000 gallons of water per year to benefit Arizona's 820 species of wildlife. Water is essential to the survival of Arizona's wildlife, and by providing additional water sources, the Arizona Elk Society helps distribute herds and other wildlife for better utilization of available forage. This, in turn, expands the quality habitat available to sustain healthy wildlife populations. AES works with volunteers, government agencies, and private landowners to identify areas in need of water catchment restoration and construction. The program has been successful in restoring and constructing new water catchments, and as a result, there has been a significant increase in wildlife populations in areas where water sources were previously limited. The Arizona Elk Society's Water for Wildlife initiative is a testament to their commitment to conservation and their dedication to ensuring the future of Arizona's natural resources.
