Our mission today is the same as it was 100 years ago: to keep science at the forefront of wildlife management and governance. As well, we continue to educate citizens of all ages about Arizona's natural history and the need for proper resource management. We honor our vision by engaging people in outdoor recreation, wildlife viewing, conservation projects, and resource advocacy.

AWF programs are focused and diverse. Our BOW program helps women gain outdoor skills and confidence; our Volunteer for Wildlife program involves our supporters in hands-on, boot-on-the-ground conservation projects; our Camo-at-the-Capitol program introduces sportsmen and women to advocacy through a full day interacting with legislators at our state capitol; our Eco-Schools programs bring wildlife and environmental education into our schools; our ECHO program helps get young children outside, into safe spaces where they can play freely in nature; our Gardening for Wildlife offers resources and support to help individuals plant gardens that support wildlife; our Get Outdoors AZ (GOAZ) program brings together outdoor-oriented businesses to advocate for strong conservation policies which in turn, support vibrant economic opportunities; and our Records Book program recognizes exceptional specimens of Arizona wildlife and honors our state's sportsmen and women. Additionally, we work at state and national levels to actively advocate for legislation that supports healthy wildlife and the resources that support them, and to ensure our access to public lands where we may enjoy them.

Testimonials

The Arizona Wildlife Federation has played an important role in Arizona's wildlife conservation for nearly 100 years. Just over a century ago, many of our wildlife species in Arizona were at record lows; some in danger of extinction. Through action on the part of sportsmen and women, policy makers, environmentalists, and concerned citizens, we turned that trend around. AWF was a leader in this effort. Today, Arizona has an abundance of wildlife and public lands. We helped establish the Arizona Game and Fish Department and Commission system of wildlife management guided by science, not politics, in order to ensure a future of abundant and diverse wildlife for all Arizonans to enjoy.

AWF has been your champion since 1923 working tirelessly to educate and advocate for wildlife and public lands in Arizona through the years. Your continued support gives us all hope that wildlife and public lands will be enjoyed for generations to come. Thank you for being part of our caring community.
