The Arizona Health Care Foundation (AHCF) makes dreams a reality for residents in long term care and assisted living settings, as well as for the dedicated staff who provide direct care and services. Established in 1997 to enhance the lives of long term care residents and the people who care for them, AHCF sponsors three programs throughout the year ...the Live A Dream Award, Holiday Grant program, and the Scholarship Award.

The Arizona Health Care Foundation (AHCF) makes dreams a reality for residents in long term care and assisted living settings, as well as for the dedicated staff who provide direct care and services. Established in 1997 to enhance the lives of our residents and the people who care for them, AHCF sponsors its two largest programs throughout the year. One is the Live A Dream Award for residents and the other is the Scholarship Award to assist long term care staff in furthering their education. More recently, AHCF has expanded its charitable programs by offering Live A Dream Award-Dental, specifically for dental care, and a Holiday Grant that is given to facilities over the holiday season.

"Our residents have little to no financial means and they are unable to purchase items for themselves, which is why these gifts would be so special for them. Each season we put out our Annual Angel Tree. Each angel on the tree represents a resident at our facility. Staff and visitors are encouraged to pick an angel and purchase a gift for that assigned resident. Unfortunately, not every one of our residents is chosen, leaving these residents without gifts to open on Christmas morning. With this grant, we can ensure that every resident will receive a gift of their own."

"As a Medicaid facility, a lot of our residents come from a place of need and have little to no support from family. Each year we as a facility try to provide a small gift during the holiday season for each resident through donations raised from staff whom are often in need themselves. Though these donations are helpful and much appreciated, it is still a struggle. This grant would assure that every one of our residents has a personalized gift during Christmas. The generosity of donation helps keep the true spirit of Christmas alive to so many that have so little and with you help the residents at Plaza Del Rio will surely have a wonderful holiday."
