HOPE began as a grassroots initiative in the 1980s, dedicated to providing support to individuals attempting to navigate the behavioral health system. That initiative grew to become HOPE, Incorporated in 1992. Since that time, HOPE has established itself in the state of Arizona as one of the premier Peer and Family Run behavioral health organizations, with three licensed outpatient clinics; two in Tucson and one in Yuma, AZ.
HOPE services include group and individual therapy, diversion services, post-crisis support, community outreach and assistance with securing treatment for opioid use disorders. HOPE's role as a Specialty Provider of Behavioral Health Services is to lower costs in health care, reduce recidivism and fill gaps in behavioral health care services. As a Peer and Family-Run agency, everyone on staff identifies as someone with lived experience of mental illness and/or a substance use disorder; who can meet individuals "where they are" and support them in navigating the behavioral health landscape.
HOPE Centers are located in Cochise, Pima, Santa Cruz, and Yuma counties with extended services in Pinal and Maricopa Counties.
We're in it Together and Better than Ever
"I got out of jail six months ago and I was really uncertain about what to do next. I remember in jail that there were other women receiving services from HOPE and they always looked so happy when they came back from their sessions. I knew I wanted to contact HOPE when I got out, and it has been wonderful. I can call my peer support person and get answers to questions, or just talk. I am amazed that there is a company out there that really cares. " (Chandra 2023, Member HOPE Yavapai, 2023)
"I was facing time and couldn't handle it, so I just stayed numb, lost my relationships, lost my kids. I had hit rock bottom and I just wanted to be done, so I struck a plea. I got probation and had to enroll in MRT (Moral Reconation Therapy) at HOPE. "I see things differently, think differently, behave differently. Today I have my family, my kids, and my life back because I have hope." (Emmanuel, Member HOPE Nogales, 2023)
"I grew up around drugs and was always in trouble; using marijuana in elementary school, started drinking as a young adult, then stronger drugs, pretty much using everything I could and wound up in jail. It was there that things started to shift, partly it was me wanting to change and partly mandates from probation, so I'm here in IOP at HOPE. I'm doing good. I need the structure that is here at HOPE. I like how they do things. It's working." (Fernando, HOPE Member Sierra Vista, 2023)
"When I was a girl my dad spoiled me and my mom was jealous, so when he passed away, she made my life difficult. I was kicked out of the house. There've been so many bumps in the road, but I always believed someone was watching out for me. Then I found HOPE and if I don't show up, they send out the Calvary. It feels like this is my long lost family. Difference is I can tell the truth." (Mary, Member HOPE Yuma, 2023)
