Flagstaff Family Food Center: Food Bank and Kitchen

$555 raised by 11 donors

The Flagstaff Family Food Center (FFFC) was established in 1991. Originating from the generosity of a local businessman and philanthropist, our organization has a rich 30+ year history of hunger relief. Starting as a simple act of kindness where meals were provided to the needy at a local diner, FFFC grew into a soup kitchen and eventually expanded to become a food bank and kitchen. Our mission, "neighbors feeding neighbors every day," reflects our commitment to the community.

FFFC believes that communities can truly thrive only when the essential needs of all members are met. The Food Center is a reliable food source for thousands of people in our communities, improving physical and mental health and resilience by reducing food insecurity.

Today, FFFC stands as the leading provider of regular and emergency food support in our area, effectively addressing hunger among food insecure residents and promoting improved physical and mental health. We distribute millions of pounds of food annually across northern Arizona through various means, including:

  • Distributing Emergency Food Boxes from our warehouse on Huntington Drive

  • Conducting Neighborhood Distributions at multiple Flagstaff locations

  • Serving hot meals and sack lunches from the Kitchen in Sunnyside

  • Delivering food boxes to homebound residents

  • Working with 25 Flagstaff nonprofits to maximize our food distribution reach including schools, homeless shelters, churches, and community agencies
