If I could give this place more than 5 stars I would. My whole family and I went there over the weekend, we met here from Oregon and Michigan to visit more family who live near here. We all thought the employees were knowledgeable and helpful. The animals look happy and relaxed. The lion was very vocal you could hear him across the sanctuary he seemed happy and lazy and fun when we finally got near him. The gift shop prices were extremely reasonable and they were working on new habitats for the lion and a few others. The entire place was very clean, I thought it was a very professional appreciative establishment. Lora Daugherty
This was my first experience here and I was very humbled by what I saw. The people all seemed very caring, informative, and friendly. The animals appeared to be well fed and well cared for. We got the unique experience of coming on a day when new animals were arriving to the sanctuary. Including a magnificent lion! I highly recommend paying the little bit extra for the guided tour, it was well worth it to receive all the information on the animals as you got to see them. I didn't mind paying $22 to take a tour and enter the sanctuary, knowing all the money goes back to the care of these animals.
I say humbling because, as much fun as it was to see the animals, my kids loved it, it definitely put things into perspective on the abuse and negligence that has happened to these creatures. I've heard about things but seeing them in person was different. I'm so glad they are in caring hands now.
To me I look at is as this is all for a good cause and getting to see where your money goes was an awesome bonus! Alicia Hayden
My Fiance and I visited for the first time yesterday for our Anniversary. We drove from Las Vegas and used a groupon, It was amazing how close you could get (while perfectly safe)! We both thoroughly enjoyed ourselves, and plan to visit again after our child is born. You can clearly tell the animals are very well taken care of from demeanor, and physic. They aren't smashed into small enclosures and have plenty of items for stimulation in their areas. While we opted to walk the sanctuary ourselves, while walking past the guided tour going on we could tell how passionate and knowledgeable the workers are. I would clearly recommend a visit to anyone in the surrounding areas or driving through the area (especially with children). All of the staff was very friendly and the lady at the front desk was very helpful answering our questions. Your visit helps support these wonderful animals in their second chance for peace and compassion! As a non-profit they could use donations or volunteers to help them out. I truly hope that in the future they can obtain their goals for expansion. Keep up the great work you guys! We can't wait to come visit again. Alana Herrera
