Prescott YMCA of Yavapai County

The Prescott YMCA of Yavapai County is a non-profit charitable organization that was founded locally in 1974. It is an association of persons of all ages who are united in a common effort to put Christian principles into practice through programs that build healthy spirit, mind and body for all.

A community volunteer Board of Directors sets policy, gives ideas and oversees the financial decisions that govern the YMCA. The YMCA is supported by memberships, program fees and public and private contributions. As a membership organization, the YMCA is open to everyone regardless of their ability to pay. An extensive scholarship program ensures access to children and families who could not otherwise afford the benefits of the YMCA. The Y: We're for youth development, healthy living and social responsibility.

The Y allowed us to drop off our kids with complete peace of mind. They went over and above to make sure that our kids were in a clean safe environment. They set up an amazing distance learning center and did their very best to help our kids with their zoom meetings and daily schoolwork while having fun! "The Prescott YMCA has stepped up to save the swimming community here in Prescott and the surrounding towns.
Swimming is a way of life for many in our little corner of the world. We use swimming to stay healthy, both physically and mentally. We are happiest when we get our daily swim, visiting with like-minded individuals. The pool is our 'happy place'.
I am indebted to the YMCA for stepping up and opening the pool as soon as the CDC said it was safe to do so. We are eternally grateful for letting us have our little slice of normalcy during this stressful time.
