Sahuarita Food Bank & Community Resource Center

We strive to meet the nutritional needs of the hungry through the acquisition and distribution of healthy food. In collaboration with community partners and clients, we also address the causes of hunger through education, workforce development, coaching and other human services.

Sahuarita Food Bank began in a small closet in 2009, responding to a request from the Community Food Bank of Southern Arizona. Thirteen years later, we are an independent 501(c)(3) that last year distributed over 1.3 million pounds of food. We also serve over 425 households a week.

In addition to feeding people, our mission is to assist community members in achieving economic security and self-sufficiency through a Community Resource Center. In early 2022 we celebrated the completion of our new 14,300sf building where we are feeding more of the hungry and providing an every-growing comprehensive set of programs in health/nutrition, family support, and workforce development. We highly value our community partners and their programs and plan to share space with them.
