Save the Family equips families to address poverty, overcome homelessness and achieve self-sufficiency.

For over 30 years, Save the Family has provided safe, affordable housing, supportive services, and case management for homeless families in Maricopa County. Our wraparound services empower families to regain self-sufficiency and set them on a path to lifelong success.

In Maricopa County, homelessness has surged by 70% since 2017, reaching its peak in October 2023 with the highest number of eviction filings since the turn of the century. With rent prices skyrocketing and wages stagnating, countless families are being left behind. In December 2023 alone, 839 households experienced homelessness for the first time.

Save the Family partners with each family in our program to catalyze transformative change. Often facing barriers such as low educational attainment, limited job skills, lack of childcare, and unreliable transportation, individuals find themselves confined to low-wage work. We offer a comprehensive range of supportive and career services to uplift our clients, including case coordination, budgeting classes, career development, and mental health care. Through these programs, adults acquire valuable life skills and receive the necessary support to break the cycle of poverty, rebuilding their homes into stable environments where they can raise their children with confidence.

Our mission extends to creating nurturing environments for the children in our program, ensuring their well-being and fostering their development. By supplying school essentials and crafting individual education plans, we empower them to overcome the generational poverty that has burdened their lives, enabling them to concentrate on academic success and accessing opportunities previously out of reach.
