Friends of the Scottsdale Public Library

It is the mission of the Friends of the Scottsdale Public Library to encourage community support through public education, advocacy and fundraising for the Scottsdale Public Library.

City funds cover library bare essentials like books, staff members and buildings. The Friends group provides supplemental funding to support programming, events and other useful resources for library patrons.

Our organization has funded Library capital campaigns, including the Knowasis Teen Center and the Scottsdale Heritage Connection. We also fund annual programs such as the 2nd Grade Library Card Campaign, the Summer Reading Program, and the Ultimate Play Date. In addition, we identify and support programs that spread awareness of the Library outside the physical building, such as the Scottsdale book bike, the Books2Go mobile libraries, and the Children's Learning and Play Festival.
