"Together with our Volunteers and Partners, Superstition Community Food Bank Provides Food to Qualified Individuals and Families in the East Valley Communities with Kindness, Respect and Dignity"

The Apache Junction Reach Out, Inc., dba Superstition Community Food Bank (SCFB ) serves the surrounding communities of Apache Junction, Gold Canyon, Northwest Pinal County, and East Mesa. We are a food bank, a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization, aiding individuals and families in need since 1983. The food bank was incorporated in 1983, distributing food from St. George Catholic Church, Apache Junction. In 1993, the construct of a new building, current location, occurred with the aid of a block grant. Today we are the largest food bank in the East Valley with a service area of approximately 100 square miles.

We move almost a million pounds of food through our warehouse annually and help feed 40,000 people a year (over 14,000 eligible families). All of this is done according to guidelines set forth by the Arizona Department of Economic Security (DES) and United Food Bank (UFB). Our continued collaboration with UFB allows us to work with 12 large local grocers who donate weekly to our food rescue program.

We are committed to assisting the community we serve with three additional services: peer-to-peer education, a community resource library, and a food quality monitoring program.

Testimonials

Todd, January 2022 - Treated me with respect and honor and all my needs met, thank you very much.

Petra, February 2022 - I got a job and was removed from SNAP, but I could not meet all my monthly bills and have food for the month for the kids. The food bank is our answer for an in-between spot of getting off public assistance, but not be able to pay it all after our rent was raised twice.

Rob - January 2024 - I hated to admit I needed food and had to go there. I was hungry and embarrassed but spent all my money on bills. This place loaded me up with a ton of food. I couldn't believe it. I truly was thankful and blessed. I literally had nothing for my son and I to eat until I got my paycheck - four days of nothing between. They fixed that and respected me.
