United Animal Friends' mission is to provide rescue programs and services to animals and those who care for them. In addition to rescuing, spaying and neutering, fostering, and finding homes for dogs and cats, UAF provides many services for residents of Yavapai County and their pets. Our Spay/Neuter Certificate Program, Community Pet Food Bank and Emergency Medical Program help hundreds of people and pets each year. We recently opened our Snip n' Go Spay/Neuter Clinic to provide low-cost spay and neuter services to the public, with prices further reduced for low-income pet owners. In addition, we spay and neuter feral cats at no cost to the feral cat colony caregiver.

United Animal Friends rescues a large number of its animals from euthanasia at high-kill shelters. We work closely with organizations in underserved areas of Arizona and New Mexico to rescue animals who have little chance of being adopted in their current location. We bring them to our UAF Rescue Ranch where they are vaccinated, spayed or neutered, and given any other necessary medical treatment needed before being adopted into loving homes in Yavapai County.

Most of the animals in our care live in volunteer foster homes or the United Animal Friends Rescue Ranch until they are adopted. Fostering and having them in our hands-on facility allows us to train and get to know each animal, which helps us find the perfect match for their unique personality. We also have cats at our Kitty City space, which is located inside our local Petco. This allows them to be seen by a larger segment of the public, which has dramatically increased adoptions.

Testimonials

"A match made in heaven - that's how we would describe the compatibility of our new rescue, Gidget with our lives. Through thoughtful, intentional screening and interviewing, United Animal Friends not only saved another dog's life, but enriched ours in the process. Anita, after years of fostering and placing animals, seemed to know exactly what pet we needed. UAF walked us through every step of the process to achieve a successful adoption. We have been involved in nonprofit organizations in the past, but have found UAF and its team of volunteers to be a cut above, as they are well trained, dedicated and compassionate professionals. They understand the seriousness & importance of their mission: to find a loving, forever home, for both the adoptee and the adopter, because both deserve that! Prior to our adoption, Stephanie cared for and loved our sweet Gidget through the delivery of Gidget's 3 puppies. She nurtured Gidget's pups and prepared them until the time was right for them all to find their forever homes. We are truly grateful for the personal support and knowledge we have received, and continue to receive, from UAF, as we enjoy every day with our amazing rescue."
