Valley Dogs rescues abandoned, neglected, and surrendered dogs of all breeds. We provide temporary housing for adoptable dogs and are a refuge for hard-to-place dogs. We promote and encourage responsible pet care, especially the spaying or neutering, microchipping, and vaccination of dogs and puppies. Our public outreach involves providing resources to owners looking to re-home their dog due to financial hardships, this includes providing information on low-cost spay/neuters, posting their dog on our website, microchipping, and encouraging them to come to our adoption events all the while staying in their original home.
Through our Veterans and Their Pets program, we support the animals of Military Veterans in need by providing veterinary care, temporary housing, and food. The core focus is to ensure that a veteran will seek medical care for their needs while we provide care for their animals. Additionally, we will support Veterans that are in transitional housing by providing a home for their animal until they obtain permanent housing that will allow the animal to live with them. We are based in Phoenix Arizona and are working with the Veterans Association and Veterans support organizations to identify those in need throughout the Phoenix area. We are coordinating support from other non-profit organizations that will also be providing food and other services to the veteran's animals. We are seeking support from others to help us with community outreach, transportation, and foster care for a veteran's animal. We have over 50 years of combined rescue experience and knowledge.
He's picked his spot on the couch. He slept all night on my pillow. He's had breakfast and we're going for our morning walk. I love him to pieces and am so happy we found each other!
This is what it is all about -- being the safe bridge to a dog in need finding love and its forever home. Cricket came into the care of Valley Dogs Rescue in March of 2019. His Christmas wishes were answered with a new "forever" home. Cricket's message to Valley Dogs…
"Thanks so much for helping me to find my forever home. I get lots of love and I am totally in charge. Merry Christmas and wet kisses. Love Cricket."
We have been blessed with our share of fantastic families adopting our pups. Gary (Airedale mix) was an owner surrender we adopted out in March 2018.
Puka (Yorkshire Terrier), was from a breeding/hoarding situation. He was loaded with fleas, ticks and had a horrible ear infection, and was in need of extreme dental work. Valley Dogs brought him back to health, dental, neuter microchipped, and vaccines updated. Puka was adopted in February 2019 by the same family that adopted Gary the prior year. We are thrilled we were able to provide these dogs a second chance, but it's only possible through your donations that provide necessary medical and veterinary services for the pups in our care.
What can I say about the rescue that connected me with the other love of my life? After my husky crossed over to the Rainbow Bridge, my terrier and I weren't ready for another dog. we took our time to grieve his loss and heal the husky-sized hole he left in our hearts. As time went by, we started realizing we were ready for another pup to join us. I knew I wanted to rescue a little friend because rescue dogs are the best dogs!
I found Rudy online in the early part of February and had the chance to meet him soon after. when Jennifer brought him over to meet my other terrier, I immediately fell in love with this silly, quirky pup. all that was left was for her to call me back and tell me he was going to live with us.
When I got the call telling me he was going to be ours, I sat on the couch with my other puppy and we cried. we were so happy that Rudy was going to be part of our family. Now he's been with us for nearly a year and we've had so many fun adventures, and the two pups have gotten into quite a bit of trouble together, but I wouldn't want it any other way.
I thank you for the job you do and I appreciate you giving us the opportunity to make a better life for a puppy in need.
Thank you.
A friend of mine found a 5-week old Pitbull, abandoned and in rough shape. I took the puppy in, took him to the vet, and got some weight put on him while we figured out how to find a proper placement for this poor baby. Another friend recommended ValleyDogs. So I did some research before contacting them. I messaged them through Facebook and in minutes had a response asking very detailed questions...
