$40,000 Goal
This Arizona Gives Day, we invite you to contribute to our mission to protect the Verde River and strengthen our community’s connection to this vital resource! We’re aiming to raise $40,000 to fund critical initiatives that care for the river, support local conservation projects, and promote sustainability.
With your donation, Friends of the Verde River can achieve great things like:
Publish our second Children’s Book, Becoming an Otter Spotter, inspiring young people to become stewards of the river.
Remove invasive species with the help of veterans through Verde Earth Technologies.
Engage 5th-grade students in the Verde BioBlitz, teaching them how to become citizen scientists and protect biodiversity.
Promote river stewardship in our communities through education, conservation programs, and hands-on projects.
Provide citizen scientists with tools and training to monitor water quality and track river health.
Preserve the river’s history with the digitization of over 1,000 historical photographs.
Replace old trail signage and create safer, more informative spaces for local outdoor enthusiasts.
Raise awareness through Listening to the Verde Podcasts, educating the community on the importance of the river.
Support the River Friendly Living Program, which helps individuals and businesses adopt conservation practices and promote sustainable living for the benefit of the Verde River, including grants for individuals and businesses.
Every dollar makes a difference. Join us on April 1, 2025, and help us raise $40,000 to ensure the Verde River remains healthy, sustainable, and cherished for generations to come.
