Yorkie Luv Rescue Inc.

A nonprofit organization

Yorkie Luv Rescue began in the ever so sunny Arizona in August, 2014. Our dedicated group of volunteers will do whatever is necessary to make sure all Yorkies in need will feel safe, healthy and loved until they are placed in a flawless forever home. In addition to rescuing, rehabilitating and rehoming Yorkies, we work with our communities in order to stress the importance of adopting a Yorkie in the hope of one day eliminating all puppy mills.

Our Yorkies come to us from shelters, owner surrender, or found wandering the streets. In most cases the owner or the shelter are unable to support the Yorkies medical needs, which require us to step in and give the Yorkie the medical support, love and attention they need. Many of our Yorkies need to feel safe and learn to trust their humans, we provide them a safe loving home for them to grow and learn how to give love and trust in return. We work with each Yorkie to rehabilitate them medically, physically, and mentally for once they are healthy and ready to give and receive love in their new home, they are available for adoption for their forever home. We go to great lengths to ensure our pups are matched up with just the right family.

Some Yorkies who find their way to Yorkie Luv Rescue find their foster home IS their forever home. From time to time a dog is considered unadoptable for a variety of reasons such as permanent medical conditions, emotional issues and even age. Sometimes this is apparent before we rescue, other times it is not. These dogs still deserve a loving home and good quality of life. In the Forever Ours program we provide ongoing medical care while they spend the remainder of their life with their foster family.

Yorkie Luv Rescue is committed to finding loving, happy homes for every dog in our rescue whether it be through adoption or in the Forever Ours program. But of course, we could not do this without you. From the bottom of our hearts, we would like to thank all of our amazing donors and volunteers. We truly appreciate your generosity.

Testimonials

Archie was a stray, in rough shape at County. YLR sprung him on December 28th and brought him to our house. He was a terrified, not housebroken mess. He had an upper respiratory infection, eye infection, and was clearly in pain when he walked. We named him Archie. After 2 trips to the vet, antibiotics for the infection, drops for his eyes, anti-inflammatory meds for his legs, and daily Glucosamine, he is feeling better. Archie has a luxating patella in both back legs. Every time he takes a step, his knee caps pop out. He doesn't really walk, but rather dances. Archie is learning to ask to go outside to potty, and he is slowly learning to trust humans. He is also bonding with his foster brothers and sisters. He is a very sweet boy. Watch for his updates.

Olivia and Violet are mother and daughter after their human passed away they were put outside and lived out there for 2 years. Olivia has grade 3 luxating pettela in her right leg and will be seeing a orthopedic surgeon. These adorable girls are very bonded and will be adopted together once they are ready. Watch for their updates.

Pearl is a adorable little girl who was left outside she was almost bald when she came into rescue. She has skin issues we are working on. Her hair is slowly growing back with baths salmon bites and coconut oil. Watch for her updates. In January 2018 Simba was rescued from a shelter, saved from being put to sleep. Simba was hit by a car and suffered broken back legs and a fractured vertebrae by his tail. Shelter vets did not have hope for Simba. YLRs team of volunteers weather a terrible storm to bring him to Arizona to safety. Special love and attention brought Simba to walk again and find his forever home. Simba was adopted to a wonderful family with 2 fur siblings to play and enjoy life with.
