Founded in 1978 by a group of dedicated volunteers, the Yuma Community Food Bank focused on feeding hungry children in Yuma County. Over forty years later, the Yuma Community Food Bank continues to create and enhance emergency and supplemental food programs that have an educational and nutritional component for families throughout Yuma and La Paz County.
The Yuma Community Food Bank acts as a conduit for providing food to area nonprofits such as Crossroads Mission, Catholic Community Services, Amberly's Place, Adventist, and many other nonprofit agencies. It also provides daily food distribution and mobile distribution to communities in Yuma and La Paz.
" I am a single disabled 60 year old female, my funds don't last long after bills, rent etc., so you guys really here for me food wise, I don't know what I would do if you guys weren't here, not just for me but the mothers with children who may not even get to eat, like myself." Thanks for the assistants, God Bless
"On Social Security and work part-time, but not too many jobs have come along, so when you have a high school child things can get a little tight so your help is a blessing." Thank you all and God Bless!!!
"The reason we come to the Food Bank is because my parents lost their jobs and we don't have money. We spend most of our money on my sister's cancer medicine, so we don't have food to eat.
People who don't appreciate the Food Bank, it's like not appreciating their life because the food bank helps us stay alive. I thank God for the Food Bank. I'm 16 and hoping to work soon to help my parents and my little sister."
