Read Better Be Better is an after-school reading comprehension and leadership program designed to help students become better readers, leaders, and learners. RBBB partners with Arizona school districts and community organizations to provide both in-person programming.
Our programs:
School Program: RBBB's Tier-4 evidence-based literacy program pairs as young Readers with older Leaders in a program facilitated by RBBB Program Coaches
Community Program- Brings our K-1 and Core programs to RBBB community partners throughout the state including local libraries, YMCA's, and other after school clubs. This program allows RBBB to expand its reach into communities which aren't being served already especially in rural areas.
Pathway to Civic Leadership: High school students will work through an individual reflective guidebook, equipping them with the language, resources, and reflective process necessary to self-actualize into positions of leadership and pursue career paths as civic leaders.
Your support is critical to helping improve literacy outcomes in our community and giving Arizona students the resources they need to be successful.
According to post-program data, 88% of 3rd grade Readers self-report that they are getting better at reading than before they were in RBBB, showing on average 20% more growth on reading comprehension tests over their non-participating classmates.
According to Bryan, a Reader at Lattie Coor Elementary School, "The program changed me because on the Dibels test my score was 85 and now it is on 149."
Of the recent Leaders, 74% said that they would participate in RBBB again if they could. Sarah, a Leader in the Osborn School District, says "My vocabulary is increasing and I know it is because of how much I practice here with my Readers. I had a 5/10 on my English Lit quiz before RBBB started and now I get higher grades."
