Owls play a crucial role in maintaining ecological balance, yet habitat loss has made it increasingly difficult for them to find suitable nesting sites. Unlike other birds, owls do not build their own nests; instead, they rely on abandoned nests from other species or natural cavities in trees. With urban expansion and agricultural development reducing these natural nesting opportunities, many owl populations are struggling to find safe places to raise their young.

To address this issue, our Owl Nesting Box Program repurposes old food-grade plastic barrels into durable, weather-resistant nesting sites. These barrels are securely attached to the roof supports of hay barns, providing a safe and sheltered space for great horned and barn owls to nest. By creating these artificial nesting locations, we not only help stabilize local owl populations but also support farmers by encouraging natural rodent control. Thanks to generous donations, we are able to expand this initiative, giving more owls a place to call home and ensuring their vital role in our ecosystem continues for generations to come.
