The Southwest Kids Cancer Foundation exists to support and enrich the life of every child and family in the Southwestern United States affected by pediatric cancer. Since 1983 our signature programs, AZ Camp Sunrise and Sidekicks, have been serving children, ages 3-18, and families impacted by childhood cancer. Each year, we provide a free, medically staffed, ADA compliant summer camp experience in Payson, AZ, and other year-round programs across AZ for over 200 kids. We proudly boast one of the longest running pediatric oncology camps in the world and one of the only that serves siblings. Our platforms are rooted in compassion, inclusivity and empowerment, aiming to enhance the quality of life for children and families facing cancer challenges.
"I come to camp because everyone here is nice to me and I can talk to people about the things I went through when I was getting chemo. I love camp because you don't get to do normal things at other camps, it's just fun. My favorite thing to do at camp is riding the horses." - Shawn J., Medulloblastoma
"Camp is important to me because you can be yourself and you don't have to worry about the outside world. It's a break from the hospital and you get to do stuff you don't get to do every day. You meet new people that have the same disease. You get to smile (a lot of people don't smile when they are sick)." - Alexis V., Leukemia
