Provide a safe environment, to teach, mentor, and give guidance to families in low-income communities.

Village Community and Recreation Center's focus is to demonstrate good stewardship in our community. This center will be a place that provides a fun place for all ages. Our motto: "Not just one.....it takes a village"

Listed below are activities that will be provided free of charge to community.

* Innovation and Technology - Gaming, Safe Internet use for children and adults
* Socializing - birthday party, dances, holiday parties, etc..
* Outdoor recreation - Gardening
* Day camps during the summer and school breaks
* Before /After School Care, 
* Performing Arts...... dance workshops, music, skits/plays, spoken word, rap, singing, poetry
* Sports....softball, volleyball, soccer, etc..
* Movie night
* Game night..... board games, card games, videos games, etc...
* Arts & Crafts for all ages - cooking, sewing, pottery, painting, etc
* Giveaway  drives.... toys, backpacks, holiday meals drives

Testimonials

The Founder and President of Village Community and Recreation Center, Jeremy McGinty as well as other board members, grew up in the low-income neighborhoods that will benefit from programs like a Tutoring and Mentoring. McGinty stated, "The current condition existed since I was a kid, in the early 1990's." Low-income families with children in the home barely making enough to cover the basic needs, let alone access to resources, such as paying a tutor to work with their children or the technology to assist with distance learning. The tutoring and mentoring program would provide resources and opportunities to elementary and high school age students, as well as the parents. This will aid in overcoming academic and economic challenges that they encounter year after year. This program will have a positive impact on families who are able to afford to hire tutors or obtain the technology needed to provide the best for their families.
