Historical Verde River Photographical Project

Help us preserve a valuable collection of 1,000 historical photographs by photographer James Cowlin. By digitizing them for long-term storage and easier access, you help ensure the preservation of our shared history.

The collection features both color and black-and-white images that capture important natural moments along the Verde River during the 1970s and 1990s. Digitizing these photos will protect them from deterioration while making them available for public engagement and storytelling, while creating an historical, scientific tool that shares the visual elements of the river with historians, scientists and future generations.
